PROGRAMS
The Institute:
- Provides funding to continue and expand the multidisciplinary research programs developed and led by Steven M. Zeitels , M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Zeitels has played a particularly central role in advancing the understanding and practice of laryngology both nationally and globally and is widely recognized as an unusually gifted and innovative laryngological surgeon. One of Dr. Zeitels' primary research programs is the Voice Restoration Research Program that seeks to restore the voices of individuals who have sustained vocal fold scarring through the use of innovative techniques. This Program includes scientists, researchers and clinicians at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Brown University. In addition to supporting the Voice Restoration Research Program, the Institute will seek out and fund other new promising collaborations, as appropriate
- Helps provide financing for a comprehensive program of clinical trials of voice care and restoration research, including facilities for testing and perfecting surgical and other advances in laryngological treatment and care. The clinical practice program may be affiliated with specific hospital(s), health care institution(s) and/or universities
- Sponsors post-residency training programs and continuing medical education activities fostering new surgical techniques and approaches for laryngological surgeons
- Develops education materials for medical and health professionals as well as informational materials for the general public about surgical and other developments in the field of laryngological surgery

- Sponsors approaches to increase general awareness of developments in the correction of serious voice disorders
