MISSION
The Institute is dedicated to advancing laryngology and voice restoration through sponsoring innovative basic and transitional research as well as promoting education and outreach programs.
VISION
The Institute seeks to be a world-leading center that will contribute to substantially altering laryngological practice paradigms in restoring vocal capabilities through research, education and outreach, even for those with the most challenging afflictions.
PRINCIPLES
A number of central principles guide the Institute's programs, organization and approaches:
- The Institute believes that the human voice is a more essential capability than ever in today's world and recognizes that voice disorders are increasingly complex
- The Institute believes that interdisciplinary research and inter-institutional approaches provide the best promise for significantly furthering laryngological care
- The Institute believes that voice restoration is likely to become an increasingly prominent medical/surgical specialty that holds the potential of beneficially affecting the lives of thousands, if not millions, of individuals suffering from impaired use of their voices
- The Institute will establish strategic alliances with universities, health-care facilities, and other organizations in order to connect disciplines and leading institutions and take advantage of rapid technological, biomedical and bioengineering advances
- The Institute will disseminate broadly its work and activities in readily accessible ways via multiple channels so that individuals and institutions - specialists in the field of laryngology as well as interested non-specialists anywhere in the world - will be able to take advantage of its research results, its practice outcomes and its educational activities.
